STEVIE asked:

I have a Sheffield Tawney Port. I am a wine lover but I don’t know how this got on my wine rack and I don’t know what to do with it. I think someone gave it to me.

You can use it as part of a marinade for beef or pork, or drink it before or after a meal as an aperitif. Port is not generally served with a meal, if I recall correctly.

Port is a hearty red wine, and is best served after dinner: good with a cheese platter or simple fruit dessert (i.e. poached pears)

Port goes well with dark chocolate. Small glasses, nice nightcap. It is a thick sweet desert wine. It is also fortified, so a little goes a long way. I don’t know this one but there are many fine ports.
