Ryan H asked:

I am fairly new to wine and bought a wine rack and want to start my collection of it for special occasions or just for the hard day at work kinda thing. I am into Red Wines more then White although im not rich!! What would you suggest for a good tasting Red Wine to always keep around??? I do not like REALLY dry wines I had bought a cheap bottle of “Fat Bastard” and it was EXTREAMLY dry and had to be one of the worst ones ive ever had. Thank you for your help!

I think you need to decide what type of red wine you like and go from there to brands… Its not merely red or white…

ie. Merlot, Shiraz, Chianti, Cabernet etc. etc.

If you want something sweet, you might try a Port wine - Fonseca makes a decent Ruby port wine for under $15/bottle

Rosemount Shiraz is fabulous, and reasonably priced too. I also recommend Pinot Noir because they are not so dry. Rosemout Merlot is also a favorite of mine. Stay away from Cabernet Sauvignon - these are not only heavy wines but very dry!

Rosemount Shiraz is very good! You might also like Yellowtail Shiraz or Jacob’s Creek Shiraz. Those two are around 7-8 a bottle. All from Australia.

My advice is spicy red zinfandel are complex and good quality go up to start pinot noir is rich with some good quality go to wine are less oak than 15 usually is also like.
My advice is spicy red wine dont get flights of flavor with velvety plum and good pinot noir would suggest benton lane pinot.
