Bec asked:

it was on it’s side in a wine rack in a wine-cellar-ish cool dark cupbord with a synthetic cork for 5 to 7 years

opened it (took an unusual amount of effort) had a taste, it tastes a bit more potent but not that bad, just kinda different, fair bit of sediment.

do you reckon anything nasty could have developed in it though? methanol or something?

Looking for ideas other than wine bottles and grapes. And if you have a pot rack, what else to you put on it other than pots?

I just started my own collection and im not a heavy drinker but. Idk. What can I say everybody has their own hobbies and possesions. When the world is gonna end for you come to my house. lol

Anyway. I know wine will eventually go bad after about 3 years and 3 days if opened. I heard Oxygen can quicken the aging process and so can heat. So what I was thinking was bagging the Wine to for extra support since the cork won’t be good enough to last forever. What do you think of this? Good or bad idea? It will kind of ruin the look of it on the racks but hey. I care more about the Wine being fresh then anything.
