what do I do if my wine doesn’t have enough flavor after secondary fermentation?
Filed Under wine racks | Comments Off
Duke asked:
I made some cheap wine out of canned peaches and after secondary fermentation for 45 days I decided to rack it and stop fermentation but upon tasting it I realized that there is hardly any peach flavor to it. it’s like fermented water. how can I add more flavor so it’s at least drinkable?

Flavoring Wine after Fermentation?
Filed Under wine racks | Comments Off
kstroik@ymail.com asked:
I know.. I know, I am not suppose to add any flavoring after the fermentation process is complete..BUT, I racked my wine for a second time last night and it has absolutely no taste
I am trying to accomplish apple cider wine, but its not very tasty. I went and bought the apple sweetener and tried it, but it does not taste like apple.
I have read that I can put in apple concentrate to boost the flavor and the sweetness of it, as long as I add the yeast killer. Am I still at that process to do that? Or am I SOL?

I am trying to make it sweeter and make it more of an apple taste.
I have bought the apple flavoring from a wine and beer homebrew but it did nothing.

a wine question?

metalscreamer1969 asked:
i have made several batches of wine using juice concentrate, just made first batch of wine with fresh fruit ( strawberry ) anyway just racked to secondary, didnt use enough sugar it is already too dry for my taste , when i rack again can i add some more sugar? it is a 1 gal. batch, only used 1 lb. sugar, should have used 2 or 3 ( used 4 lbs strawberries ) & 1 can white grape juice concentrate. if this will help make it a little sweeter, should i add the sugar to a few cups of boiling water & let cool & add it when i rack again?or should i make another batch of extra sweet wine & mix the two together when its time to bottle? being a beer brewer, making wine from just juice is boring for me, plus i have a constant supply of fresh fruit. thanks!

I have just finished the fermentation primary stage and have transfered the wine or vinigar into a car boy for storage and racking. How do I know if I have ended up with vinigar or wine. Is there a way to test for alcohol ?

Charcoal walls, black crown molding, Burgundy wood floors?
Filed Under wine racks | Comments Off
You Know What’s Up asked:
We have a 400 square foot family room upstairs with 4 walls and 3 huge windows. We want to have the walls painted dark charcoal, black crown molding and Burgundy wood floors. Has anyone did something similar? We have a dark purple sectional couch that sits 10 people, we have a black coffee table with marble top. We are going to have a black iron wine rack with glass on top. I am just curious at to how it will look.
Ceiling will be white and the blinds are white. We are going to add colorful pics.

How can I make homemade wine less sweet?

After racking (cayuga) white wine, it seems too sweet for my liking. Is there a way to make it less sweet? I have made this the last two years and the first was perfect, last years was too sweet for me (others loved it). Thanks in advance.

Im looking for a wine glass rack shaped like a tree, and holds full glasses of wine?

At an event this evening I saw a tree made of steel/metal that held wine glasses, the glasses were right side up and full of wine. It made for a lovely presentation… any idea what this is called or where I can get one?

best way to move across country?

cap 1981 asked:
I am probably going to be moving from Cincinnati to Florida for a job— I was wondering if it would be cheaper to just sell all my stuff here and get new stuff there, or if i should keep my stuff and haul it down there…if you think i should keep it, is there a cheap way to move it? I come from a one bedroom apartment..big items are couches, bed, vanity table, living room tables, dining table and chairs, bakers/wine rack, buffet table, tv, stereo system—i don’t know– it seems like alot to haul down — but also alot to replace (and my matress is less than a year old.)
