Jennifer C asked:

We just moved into a new home, and we have wonderful friends that are looking forward to coming to our housewarming. I had never considered mentioning for anyone to bring a gift or anything in our invitation, but 2 people have now said…”you have an empty liquor cabinet and a bare wine rack… ask people to bring a bottle of their favorite liquor to put on your shelf, or a bottle of wine to put in your rack”. I am not sure how I feel about that, Opinions out there on whether this would be something you would be “happy to do” if you saw it in your invitation, or would it be “tacky”. (Mind you, these are all close friends and family, not just acquaintances)

It’s me! asked:

A while back, I bought a beautiful iron bottle rack wine bar holder at an auction at a very high end furniture store. I think it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet in height and about 3 1/2 in length. Its all in black and has beautiful grapes and leaves but all in iron. A glass sits on top of the rack for wine glasses. It just does not match the inside of our NEW house. I was thinking about taking it out side under a wood porch. I will REALLY match the black patio table. I just don’t know if it will rust and wonder if I should pray it with some kind of protection. Any suggestions?

Smitty asked:

I am making wine for the first time. I bought a complete kit, juice, etc. I followed the directions to a tee. I just racked it into my glass carboy & attached the air-lock and the bung. Unfortunately, I don’t have any bubbles coming up through the airlock. How could there not be any carbon dioxide (I think) coming out? Is this going to have a huge impact on my wine?
Any input is appreciated.

Michael
