Kosher wine?

Filed Under wine racks | Comments Off

Cambridge asked:

Hello, I am going to buy some bottles of Kosher wine for my wedding - I have three Jewish guests coming. The question is - can I store it like normal wine, I would normally just pop it in a cupboard or in my wine rack!
But as it is Kosher, does it have to be stored a certain way. I know it’s wine like any other but I’m talking about possibly comprimising it’s, umm, kosherness - can it be in a cupboard with non-kosher wine etc!!

Help!
Michelle — thank you - thats exactly what I needed to know.

Promirdius - I ain’t a fella

David - Please take your racist and offensive rants somewhere else.

Vivian

John Thompson asked:

Hanging wine racks are specially produced racks that can be hung up from the ceiling, under cabinets, on walls (although there are special wall wine racks that are constructed differently), or on another piece of high-situated furniture. Aside from the intended purpose, these hanging wine racks have multiple functions; they provide revolving dcor, storage facilitation, and stylish design.

A hanging six-bottle wine rack spirals as an eye diversion, stimulating the visuals of any setting in a flare of fashion. This kind of hanging wine rack has an optional stem to allow the potential of appending an extra two bottles. The Six- and Eight-Bottle can be placed anywhere around the house-countertops, bars, tables, in the corner, against the wall, in the walk-in closet, or wherever, and can be installed oh-so easily.

And a hanging eclectic eight-bottle wine rack is different. This hanging wine rack is designed in an erratic fashion, close to unintended or predestined. This style creates a flash that sets any scene on fire. An eighteen-inch black chain accentuates the visual appeal of this hanging wine rack. Since no two of this kind of hanging wine rack is made the same, each owner possesses an one-of-a-kind production!

The one disadvantage, or risk, of the hanging wine rack is the consideration that it might fall and cause bottles to shatter. This poses a mess and even a problem to the health of anyone possibly standing nearby, particularly if someone bumps into it a bit too aggressively.

This can even risk hitting someone else in the head or face. For these reasons, the hanging wine rack, although a nifty function in any home, should be suspended wisely and in a safe location where any chance of its falling is minimized or eliminate altogether. This is the real problem to installing the hanging wine rack!

A hanging wine rack holds the equivalent attraction of a Christmas tree, and would appeal to both wine lovers and interior designers. In the end, this hanging wine rack-a great piece of fashionable furniture—is not only functional, it is surely fun!

Hanging wine racks adds a higher lever (excuse the pun) of sensibilities to your wine cellars.

Oh my god, peacefully watching TV when heard rustling…. turned around and the cat was pawing something under the wine rack, looked closer and found a massive tail!!! My husband got it out, but i am so freaked out!
I believe it got in through the cat flap, SO i cant use traps because i have a curious 3 year old, and cant use poison, for the same reason (also I dont want my cat to get sick)
Any suggestions?

Matt asked:

I am remodeling a house and was thinking of adding a few extras. I am finishing the basement and thought of adding one room down there as a wine room with wine racks and an island. is this something that would raise the value of the house, or is that just something for a very expensive place? this is a middle class house in Pittsburgh. If it isn’t worth doing, what are some ideas for rooms that would up the resale value?

LouisvilleGirl asked:

My home & kitchen are decorated in a Tuscan-inspired fashion. I like rustic stuff, maybe with a tiny bit of frou-frou, but not so scrolled-out that it looks like a gadget with a bad 80s perm. Ya know? I’m also on a budget - around $50. I really like to find alternative uses for things. (For example I have a tall wooden wine rack in our entry way with cubbies for the wine bottles….except we use it as a shoe rack for my kids’ shoes.) I had thought of finding an antique or vintage style coat rack to use, but being it’s a pot rack I’m afraid it would fall over. Also, if it’s mounted, it needs to be wall-mounted as a ceiling mounted pot rack won’t work in my space.

Let the creativity begin!

Luis

mrapolloproject asked:

I am looking to use a grape juice concentrate because at this time of year I cannot get fresh grape juice where I live. I am looking at making a few batches of wine, but some of the concentrates I’ve found online and elsewhere seem to have had vitamin C (ascorbic acid) added to it. I know this is sometimes added to white wines as an antioxidant, but usually after the fermentation process is complete. Will having this additional/added vitamin C in my juice prior to fermentation/racking stages affect the end product? I want to make sure that my yeast will not stagnate and that the flavor won’t be wholy comprimised. Any and all answers are appreciated, and this community is always so very helpful. Thanks!!

Wine coolers?

Filed Under wine racks | Comments Off

aksteckel asked:

I have just gotten into the wine scene and I have accumulated quite a nice collection. I know that it is best to store the bottles either upside down or on their side. My question is where can I find a reasonably priced wine cooler or wine rack. I would prefer to buy locally so that I don’t have to pay the outrageous shipping costs. Any ideas what stores might carry?
