There are many designs and most of them in different geometrical patterns but the best out of them is the rectangular one which is quite safe.
If you are thinking over some color, although it all depends upon the color of the walls and other surroundings, we recommend the dark ones. They give a more romantic and elegant look. Redwood and the mahogany generally do not need to be painted.
There are certain precautions that need to be considered. There should be no electrical installations where you are preparing to have your wine rack. The lighting system at the ceiling is called the can lighting and it should be around 15 inch from the wall for a single deep racking and around 28 to 30 inch for double deep racking. The doors and the windows of the bar should be properly installed so that they maintain insulation of inside from outside. The rack should not interfere with the door, window or any type of switch.

How to build climate controlled Wine rack?

I am looking to convert and existing wooden wine rack into a temperature controlled unit. Before describing what im looking for here is what i have dug up thus far. Wine cellar is out of the question, need to store wine in a small apartment. Wine coolers seem to be for short term “chilling” wine rather than long term storage for aging and wine cabinets seem to costly for me.

1) temperature control. - i was thinking of buying a mini-fridge to take apart and retrofit for my purposes.
2) Humidity - how important is this step? What tools can be used to regulate humidity?
3) Insulation - what are the best materials / ways to insulate this.
4) Light and air flow - looking to have a see through front to this cabinet. Maybe some smoke / gray glass or Plexiglas. What is the best material to use here?
It would be great if all materials could be bought at a store like home depot.
